Located in Can Mario square, right in the town centre, the towwer is one of the town's main symbols
You can see the tower stand out when you arrive to the town of Palafrugell through Torres i Jonama street. The tower is magnificent, imposing, and thin, as if it were looking over all of us. Built with a spectacular iron structure between 1904 and 1905, this tank supplied water to the Miquel, Vincke & Meyer cork factory.
Through the Water Tank’s Interpretation Centre, you will pass through the tunnel that will bring you to the foot of the tower to go up its 182 spiral stairs, leading you up 35 metres to get an overview of the town and of all Empordanet.
To go up the tower, you have to ask for access in the Cork Museum, which is located next to it. Visiting the museum is essential to be able to enjoy the era of cork first hand and learn more about the lives of the workers who made it possible.
