Since the first meeting of singers in 1966 when three friends (Francesc Alsius, Frederic Martí, and Joan Pericot) ran into each other at a tavern in Calella until today’s festival, several years have passed and the festival is fully rejuvenated.

The Cantada d’Havaneres, or the Havaneres Sing Along Festival, in Calella de Palafrugell has become the HAVANERES FESTIVAL par excellence, establishing itself as an international tourist phenomenon, kicking off summer with the festival held on the first Saturday in July.

In parallel with the FESTIVAL in Calella, there are two more, apart from those that take place in Festes Majors or in tourist establishments:

  • the Havaneres Sing Along on the beach of Llafranc, the first Saturday of August and organised by the Friends and Residents of Llafranc.
  • the Havaneres Sing Along on the beach of Tamariu, the first Saturday of September, organised by the IPEP.
