Aquatic Lanes

Aquatic Lanes

Aquatic Lanes

The aquatic lanes of Palafrugell are a public system of open water marine itineraries intended to practice sporting, leisure and educational activities

Aquatic Lanes

The itineraries are marked with buoys which allow you to enjoy the open water in a completely safe way. The aquatic lanes convert this territory into a tourist destination for swimming and snorkelling in open water.

The aquatic lanes run parallel to the coastal paths that go along the coast for a kilometre which connects the coastal towns of Calela de Palafrugell and Llafranc. Later, the lane from Tamariu to Aigua Xelida was added, covering a distance of 1.2 kilometres.

The scenic heritage of the coasts of Palafrugell (Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc and Tamariu), serves as an element that integrates the knowledge of the environment with a sport such as swimming. At the beach, you will find information panels with the specifications of the aquatic lanes, its difficulty and distance.

This is a way of creating sustainable tourism to promote economic development and mobility within the territory all year round.

Everyone can enjoy the aquatic lanes:

  • If you want to discover fauna, you can snorkel and explore the immense natural wealth of the seabed.
  • If what moves you is sports, you can swim enjoying a privileged natural environment.
  • If you are a triathlete and / or swimmer, you can find the ideal area to train in open water.
  • If you are a fan of free diving or scuba diving, these are unique places to train and enjoy your favourite sport safely.
